Dear all,
On 12-13 October 2023, I attended the International Conference on Multilingualism and Multilingual Education at the University of Malta.
I presented a communication about TEACHERS´ EXPERIENCES IN MULTILINGUAL EARLY LANGUAGE LEARNING CONTEXTS.
As the conference dealt with different topics and views within an array of multilingual bilingual, trilingual contexts, I assisted to some very interesting talks about cross-linguistic mediation, language awareness in plurilingual education, multilingual contexts I wasn't really aware of (e.g, China, Japan), teachers' practices of inclusive multilingual education for heritage languages in different countries, teachers’ beliefs about multilingualism, translanguaging practices, multilingual teacher’s identities, pre-service teachers’ experiences of linguistic diversity, and bilingual pre-schoolers: the role of age, input quantity and quality, parents’ perceptions of changes in language dominance, family language policies, family as a space, family variables in FLP, children’s identities, family legacies, the evolution of signage in an area in development, community-based heritage schools (mandarin), language policies due to immigration, EMI, and dominant language constellations.
Plenty of key topics related to our multilingual world.
Thanks to all presenters!
